SHILLONG, Jul 27: North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) recorded 10 new active cases, NEIGRIHMS authorities informed on Monday night.
Of the 10, one is a security ward in the orthopedic ward while nine others are staffs of the orthopedic ward who were already under quarantine and on two earlier occasions had tested negative for the virus.
“These nine were supposed to be released on Sunday but when tested again their samples were positive,” Dr. Bhattacharya said.
All the nine patients are asymtomatic.
NEIGRIHMS, Director Prof. (Dr) P Bhattacharya said that the security guard who was part of the orthopedic ward is symptomatic.
