124 new recruits inducted into Meghalaya police

SHILLONG, Oct 20: A Passing Out Parade of the new recruits of the 2nd batch basic training recruit constables of 6th MLP battalion was held today at Meghalaya Police Academy, Umran.

A total of 124 personnel graduated today, comprising of 116 male and eight female personnel.

The recruits underwent a rigorous basic training module for a duration of 44 weeks, which included training on maintenance of law and order, counter insurgency operations, and various other indoor/outdoor subjects.

Meghalaya Director General of Police R. Chandranathan, who was the chief guest on the occasion in his speech encouraged the trainees to keep on learning and acquiring the skills required for enforcing the law,

“…because police officials are more accountable as they are the enforcers of law,” Chandranathan said.

Recruit constables who were awarded to day for their exemplary performance during the training period were, BNRC Pentune R. Marak (Best Trainee in Physical Training), BNRC Jigash I. Sangma (Best Trainee in Drill), WPRC Doloris Pariong (Best Trainee in Outdoor Subjects), BNRC Makri Dkhar (Best Discipline Trainee), BNRC Davy John Suciang (Best Trainee in Musketry) and BNRC Sporningstar Kharpuri (All Round Best Trainee).
