SHILLONG, Nov 25: A total of 233 petrol pump outlets have been proposed for opening up in Meghalaya.
The Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has proposed the opening up of a total of 87 retail outlets with 74 in regular areas and 13 in rural areas, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited has proposed the setting up of 113 retail outlets with 96 in regular areas and 17 in the rural areas, while, the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has proposed to open up 33 outlets with 29 in regular areas and 4 in rural areas.
Meanwhile, according to authorities the process of dealer selection has been simplified in line with the Government’s emphasis on “Ease of doing business”.
User friendly On-line application has been introduced and the application form has also been simplified.
“The rigmarole of submitting voluminous documents by the applicants, in support of eligibility, has been dispensed with. Only the selected candidate would be required to produce the documents. Similarly, the eligibility norms have also been relaxed,” authorities said.
According to authorities availability of suitable land at the advertised location/stretch is the most important requirement but applicants without land can also apply, however, they are expected to offer land when called for.
Meanwhile, for the first time, computerized “Draw of Lots”/”Bid opening” would be held under the aegis of an independent agency to bring in more transparency.
