7340 samples collected, 6899 tested negative and 420 awaited


Shillong, May 29: Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong today informed that till Friday 7340 samples have been collected for testing out of which 6899 samples tested negative and the results of 420 is awaited. 

The Deputy Chief Minister also informed the number of stranded students and individuals of the State who reach till Friday is 10,655. 

He also informed that special train from Kerala with 352 people will reach the State on May 30.  A special train from Delhi with 174 people is reaching Guwahati Railway Station on Friday evening, while from Goa a train with 99 people is reaching on May 31.

Tynsong informed that the government during a review meeting held had decided that private and non profit making offices or organizations are allowed to start their activities with a total staff strength of 33 percent only. Such offices will also include those run by religious groups. 

The government also has said that with the reopening of construction activities if a firm or a contractor lacks highly skilled labourers, technicians or operators which is not available in the state the concern people can apply for special permission from the respective deputy commissioners to allow entry of such persons from outside Meghalaya into the State. 

The government also said that it has allowed the resumption of non contact sports which will include archery (teer) and golf, table tennis, badminton, track and field.
