SHILLONG, Nov 11: Women rights and RTI activist, Agnes Kharshiing who suffered grievous injuries in a murderous attack on November 8 at East Jaintia Hills district is “critical but stable at present,” authorities of the NEIGRIHMS said.
However, hospital authorities also said that her “condition is dynamic and can change with time.”
As per the latest assessment at 2 pm, on Sunday, her blood pressure and pulse is within normal range.
According to NEIGRIHMS when Kharshiing was brought to the hospital on the evening of November 8 at around 6 pm, she had head injury with chest trauma and extensive musculoskeletal injury. CT scan done showed head injury and multiple fracture ribs on the left side.
Meanwhile, her colleague Amita Sangma is fully conscious and oriented.
“Taking orally and is able to converse normally. On absolute bed rest and under observation of surgery doctors,” NEIGRIHMS authorities said on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, there has been no further arrest till date of those involved in the attack on Agnes and Amita.
It may be mentioned that on November 9 morning, police arrested two suspects – Elphon Dkhar (22) and Meklison Siangshai (26) were picked up.
Police took up a suo motu case since the victims were not in a condition to file an FIR.
