Shillong, Apr 23: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on Thursday, informed that testing of all known primary contacts of the COVID-19 positive patients have been completed and the results have come out negative.
It was revealed that through contact tracing, 223 primary contacts and 5,007 secondary contacts of all the positive patients had been determined.
He also informed that as of Thursday, the total number of samples tested for the virus stands at 1109 out of which 1000 were tested negative. The results of 97 tests are awaited and there are 11 active COVID-19 cases in the state, and 1 death.
The Chief Minister also informed that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 87,189 farmers from Meghalaya have been provided financial assistance of Rs 2000.
He also said that 70,198 Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households covering 2,90,989 beneficiaries were provided 35 kg rice per household at Rs 3 under NFSA and Non NFSA quota and Priority House Hold (PHH) households with 18,54,156 beneficiaries were provided 5kg of rice per beneficiary at Rs 3 per Kg.
It was also informed that under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) – the above AAY and Priority Household beneficiaries apart from their PDS, NFSA quota are also getting 5 kg rice free of cost per head per month for April, 2020. They shall also get the PMGKAY free ration for May and June, 2020 also.
All AAY and PHH households will also get 1 kg of pulses per month for April, May and June, 2020 free of cost. The government has started distribution for April quota.
