Assam businessman goes missing from Tura
Tura, June 12: One trader from Goalpara in Assam, has gone missing leading the police personnel for a search operation in the entire Garo hills.
The trader who sold clothes in the weekly market at Najing Bazaar in Tura, every Saturday, went missing since the previous Saturday under very strange circumstances.
Identified as Ismail Sheikh of Goalpara in Assam had made a call from his mobile to his brother in Goalpara claiming that he had been abducted by some unidentified men.
Further he also claimed that his abductors had come to his stall and bought a few clothes but asked him to come to their house for payment, to which he apparently agreed.
“We have identified a few suspects and have knowledge of the fact that the victim is alive he has been allowed to speak to his family. We are looking at all aspects of the case,” said SP of WGH, Dr MGR Kumar.
Police investigation in the case has already begun though ground reports have differed from the one stated by the victim and his brother, putting a huge question mark on what exactly happened.
The true nature of his disappearance has also come into question after hawkers close to his stall did not even recall him coming the past Saturday to the stall itself.
