Shillong, Apr 26: The Nodal officer of Bethany hospital, Dr. Kyntiewlang Sanmiet today assured its patrons and well-wishers that Bethany Hospital, Shillong and Bethany Hospital Outreach, Nongpoh will resume operations at the earliest.
In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, Dr. Sanmiet said, “Currently, we await government’s instructions regarding disinfection and sanitisation of the hospitals in order to safeguard public and staff safety on commencement of our services.”
As an assurance to all the patrons and well-wishers, the Nodal Officer said, Bethany Hospital looks forward to welcome one and all with Care, Compassion and Commitment and requests all concerned to extend their cooperation by not sharing unverified information.
He also clarified that the messages circulating on social media that five doctors of Bethany Hospital, Shillong are hospitalized and that the hospital is closed indefinitely and its doctors and staff are searching for jobs elsewhere is misleading and incorrect.
“Only one doctor of our hospital is currently hospitalised in one of the private hospitals in the city and has tested negative for COVID-19 thrice already. The last test was done on Saturday, 25th April, 2020,” Sanmiet informed.
