Shillong, Jan 14: Meghalaya Pradesh BJP, Kisan Morcha today expressed their disappointment with the Supreme Court order to put a stay on the new farm laws, but added that they will respect the verdict of the apex court.
The BJP Kisan Morcha also urged anti-farm law protestors to withdraw their protest and not create law and order problems.
“We the responsible citizens, organizations and political parties must respect the verdict of Hon’ble Supreme Court as such we are hereby appeal to all the agitators who are protesting against the new farmer’s laws to withdraw their programs by honoring the verdict of Hon’ble Supreme Court,” the statement from state BJP Kisan Morch, Pramod Koch read.
However, the BJP Kisan Morcha added that the Modi government has been making all efforts to resolve the issues in new farmers laws by way of negotiations.
It added that that the government offered to amend the laws with agitating farmer unions but they refused to negotiate.
The BJP Kisan Morcha claimed that due to the intervention of opposition parties and ‘some wasted interest groups there was no settlement even though there is difference of opinion in two or three issues.’
