Border weekly markets to reopen; bars to reopen by Oct 26

Shillong, Oct 16: The Meghalaya Government today informed that they have decided to reopen weekly markets located at both domestic and international borders.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that weekly markets in the Meghalaya-Assam border and Meghalaya-Bangladesh border will be allowed to resume sale and purchase. 

He added that all Deputy Commissioners have been directed to prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) in accordance with protocols set by the Heath and Family Welfare Department. 

He also informed that bars in hotels, restaurants and locations with permitted licence can reopen from October 26, after puja celebrations concludes.
