CBI raid in connection with rural bank fraud of Rs 14.34 Cr

SHILLONG, Apr 2: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths on Tuesday raided residences of eight people in connection with a scam in the Meghalaya Rural Bank.

According to reliable sources, one of the person whose house was raided is the Branch Manager of the bank while the seven others are private individuals.

The eight are accused of being involved in a fraud of Rs. 14.34 crores which took place at Meghalaya Rural Bank, Iewduh branch.

CBI Shillong registered a Case on March 27 on a complaint lodged by Meghalaya Rural Bank.

The raids took place at Mawlai, Upper Shillong, Pynursla and Mairang.
