Shillong, June 17: Meghalaya Criminal Investigation Department in collaboration with International Justice Mission (Kolkata) and International Center for Missing and Exploited Children on Wednesday organised an e-workshop on “Child Protection & Safety Measures from Online Crime During COVID-19.”
Assistant Inspector General of Police (A) G K Ïangrai informed that the webinar included sessions on the general scenario of digital exploitation, learning from combating digital exploitation, the mental impact and challenges in addressing online exploitation of children in India.
The workshop also included a message from Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. It began with an inaugural speech from H. Nongpluh, IPS Additional Director General of Police (CID), Meghalaya and R. Chandranathan, IPS Director General of Police delivered the keynote address.
“The resource persons for the webinar were from the United States of America as well as from India, and the workshop was attended by police officials and other line departments of Meghalaya,” Ïangrai added.
