Speaking to media person, the Congress spokesperson said that this was not the time to play politics.

“It is our duty as members of the Congress party to be at ground zero and see without own eyes what actually happened. What is the reason for the slow progress of work and why not even a single minister from the government did not visit the accident site. Does this show the lackadaisical attitude of the government? The Deputy Commissioner did his best with whatever resources available with him,” Shangpliang said.

Another Congress legislator Ampareen Lyngdoh said that mine owners should have a blue print of their mines.

“Such incidents should be wake-up call. From now on mine owners should have a blue print of their mines. If they do not have a blue print and a tragedy such as this occurs it will be difficult for us to help,” Lyngdoh said.

She also expressed on how these heavy machines would be transported from the main road to the mine site.

“We reach the mine site by four wheels, how will they transport the machines. How will they bring the machines which weigh around 800 kilos each,” Lyngdoh added.
