Cong reiterates demand for CBI probe

SHILLONG, Dec 9: The Congress Legislature Party on Sunday met at the residence of leader of opposition Dr Mukul Sangma.

The meeting expressed concern over the delay in the investigation process of the murderous assault on the two women activists, Agnes Kharshiing and Amita Sangma.

“This type of lawlessness is unprecedented
in the history of the Meghalaya and does not
augur well for the welfare of the state,” the Congress party said.

The CLP noted with concern the insensitive attitude of the government towards the sentiments of the people of the state.

The CLP meeting reiterated its demand for CBI enquiry into the assault of the two women activists to ensure fair and neutral investigation of the case.
