Conrad: Govt yet to get appointment to meet Amit Shah

Shillong, Jan 22: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today informed that the State government has not got an official communication if Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be meeting the government during his visit to the state.

Sangma said that he was hopeful that the cabinet will get an appointment to meet the Union Home Minister.

“Normally the Home Minister is very positive in these matters and he does make time out,” the Chief Minister said.

Shah will be in the city on Saturday for the inaugural session of the 69th plenary of the North Eastern Council.

He also said that the organisations which have approached through the state government expressing their desire to meet the Union Home Minister said that he was hopeful they too will get time.

The Chief Minister informed that Shah will land in the city at 9:30 am – 9:45 am, and he will be going back to Guwahati the same day.

“So therefore his time will be very tight so we will have to see but we are hopeful that we will be able to get the time,” Sangma said.
