SHILLONG Jun 23: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Kongkal Sangma on Saturday, reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of each and every citizen of the state.
Conrad also urged all stakeholders to work towards achieving greater prosperity and inclusive growth.
The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest during the 99th SOS Day celebrations at SOS Children’s Village in Umiam.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that there should not be any compromise on hard work and urged the children to carry a positive attitude to life.
“No matter the difficulties and challenges you face in life always keep smiling”, the Chief Minister told the gathering.
The Chief Minister also exhorted the organisation and its members to work with selfless dedication towards the all round development and well being of the children and the youth.
The Chief Minister also suggested the organisation to popularise the beautiful handicrafts made by the residents of the village by opening an outlet in the area.
“Without infringing upon the purpose and objective of the organisation some external activities can be initiated, as this area is an important tourist location”, The Chief Minister added.
The Chief Minister also asked the children to take initiatives to preserve and protect the environment.
