COVID-19: Meghalaya records seven new cases, seven recoveries

Shillong, Jan 20: Meghalaya on Wednesday recorded seven new COVID-19 cases and seven recovered from the viral infection, health authorities informed. 

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the state now has 133 active cases and the total number of recovered cases stands at 13440.

Of the seven new cases – six were recorded in East Khasi Hills and one in West Garo Hills.

Of the seven recovered cases – all were recorded in East Khasi Hills. 

East Khasi Hills which is the most affected district has 100 active cases, Dr. War informed. 

South West Khasi Hills, South West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and East Garo Hills districts are currently COVID-19 free. 

The total number of persons tested till date for COVID-19 are 3, 21, 819 out of which 3, 08, 102 tested negative for the virus. 

So far a total number of 84, 702 persons have entered the state till Wednesday afternoon after restrictions on travelling were eased.
