Shillong, Aug 26: Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman Warr today informed that a mentally challenged person who had tested positive for the virus died after he collapsed in the bathroom on Wednesday afternoon.
He, however clarified that as of today the death cannot be counted due to COVID-19.
“The doctors will take a call on the cause of death,” Dr. Warr said.
According to the Director of Health Services, the patient identified as Rajendra Shah (70) a resident of 29 Cantonment, Anjalee was brought dead to the Shillong Civil Hospital at around 3:30 pm.
Dr. Warr said that the person was asymptomatic and was under quarantine at home.
