COVID: Meghalaya records 57 new cases and 59 recoveries

SHILLONG, Nov 24: Meghalaya on Tuesday recorded 57 fresh COVID-19 cases taking the total number of active ones to 893 with East Khasi Hills recording the maximum with 436.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that 32 were registered in East Khasi Hills, nine in West Garo Hills (armed and paramilitary force one, others eight), five in South West Garo Hills, four in South Garo Hills, three in West Jaintia Hills, two in East Garo Hills and one each in North Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi.

Of the 59 new recovered cases, 29 are in East Khasi Hills, eight in West Jaintia Hills, seven in East Garo Hills, five each in South Garo Hills and West Garo Hills, three in East Jaintia Hills and one each in North Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills.

Dr. War informed that till date a total of 2, 32, 602 persons were tested for COVID out of which 2, 21, 148 tested negative and a total of 62, 509 persons entered the State from other parts of the country and abroad.
