COVID: Meghalaya records one more death and 109 fresh infections

SHILLONG, NOV 19: Meghalaya on Thursday recorded one more death due to Covid taking the toll to 104 even as 109 fresh cases were registered and 60 persons recovered from the virus.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that with the new cases the number of active ones is now 801 and 10074 persons have recovered so far.

He informed that the one death registered today was from East Khasi Hills. The total number of fatalities in East Khasi Hills has risen to 85.

Dr. War informed that of the 109 new cases 51 were recorded in East Khasi Hills, 42 in West Garo Hills, four each in Ri-Bhoi and South Garo Hills, three in East Garo Hills, two in East Jaintia Hills, one each in North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills.

Of the new recovered cases – 36 (armed and paramilitary forces three, others 33) were recorded in East Khasi Hills, nine in West Garo Hills, five in East Garo Hills, four in West Khasi Hills, two in Ri-Bhoi and South West Garo Hills, one in West Jaintia Hills and South Garo Hills.

Dr. War also informed that till date a total of 225659 samples were tested out of which 214680 samples came out negative.

He also informed that so far 60406 persons have entered the State.
