DC asked to file FIR against Greenwood wedding attendees

Shillong, Jul 10: The State government has asked the East Khasi Hills, Deputy Commissioner, Matsiewdor War to file an FIR against the 41 people who attended a wedding at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati. 

Addressing the media on Friday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that the government took the decision on receipt of the enquiry report submitted by deputy commissioners of East Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi district.

The enquiry was conducted against those persons who violated protocols. 

“We decided that immediate FIR should be filed against the 41 who attended the marriage,” Tynsong said. 

The Deputy Chief Minister, however, refused to share the findings of the enquiry report. 

It may be mentioned that the marriage was held at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati

on June 27 and subsequently another reception was held in Shillong on July 2.

Meanwhile, State Director of Health Service (MI), Dr. Aman Warr informed that of the 41 people who had attended the marriage 62 high risk contact’s samples were taken and reports are awaited.
