Shillong, Jul 29: A decision on the extension of lockdown in Shillong city agglomeration areas to be taken by today, said Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.
The Deputy CM said that a decision on extending the lockdown in the State would be taken on Wednesday after holding discussions with experts from the medical field.
“Based on their recommendations, the government will decide on extending the lockdown,” he said.
Recently, the state government did not preferred for a complete lockdown however divided areas into clusters and containment zones accordingly.
At present, the lockdown is imposed in Shillong city agglomeration areas till July 29 midnight.
As per records, Meghalaya has a total of 580 active COVID-19 cases in the state, as of Tuesday.
