Delhi-Shillong direct flights will boost tourism: CM

Shillong, Oct 16: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today participated in a virtual meeting called by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel to discuss ease of travel to enhance domestic tourism.

At the meet, the Chief Minister informed Patel that Meghalaya has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with a private airline company to operationalize flights from Delhi to Shillong in order to boost tourism.

“Direct flight from Delhi to Shillong and from Shillong to other State capitals in Northeast will open up a huge tourism market”, he said.

He stated that several initiatives and interventions have been taken by the State to promote tourism and measures have been adopted for the safety of tourists.
