Demand to implement ILP: Amit Shah heard everyone patiently says Conrad Sangma

Shillong, Jul 27: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today said the Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in Meghalaya will be examined.

“The Union Home Minister had patiently heard the delegation of the state Cabinet including others who met him during his visit to the state last week,” Sangma told reporters.

“In the meeting, he (Shah) had mentioned that he will be examining the matter. The Govt of India is examining the matter is what he had told the cabinet during the discussion we had with him,” he said.

The Chief Minister said apart from ILP, issues related to the boundary talks and inclusion of Khasi and Garo Languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India were also taken up with the Union home minister.
