Shillong, Aug 10: Amidst speculations regarding a change in leadership in the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Congress MP Vincent Pala, on Monday, stated that the decision will depend on the party high command.
However, he added that Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh’s past accomplishments as MPCC President could be seen in the results of the Legislative Assembly and General Election.
He informed that several MLAs suggested that the PCC president should be more proactive especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this regard, Pala informed that Dr Lyngdoh recently underwent a surgery and is currently not in good health and therefore a spokesperson would be elected to highlight issues regarding the current government’s COVID-19 management.
He said that the other agendas discussed in the meeting was for reviving and restructuring the party and to discuss a roadmap for 2023 elections.
