Tura, April 7: United Democratic Party (UDP) chief, Dr Donkupar Roy has urged his members to support for the MDA common candidate, Agatha K Sangma of the NPP.
Roy attended a general meeting of its party in Garo Hills as chief guest and the meeting was held at Gajing in North Garo Hills (NGH).
Also present during the function was the working president of UDP, Bindo Lanong, Baghmara MLA, Samuel Sangma, state youth wing working president, Anand Marak, Garo Hills president, Beningstone G Momin along with a host of women leaders from the party.
Speaking to reporters, Anand Marak said that in the general meeting, the party in presence of its president have resolved to continue working for her (Agatha Sangma) and to ensure she comes out the winner.
The UDP by its official resolution has decided to support the NPP candidate as reciprocation for the NPP’s support to the common candidate from Shillong, Jemino Mawthoh of the UDP.
