Five-day autumn session to begin from Nov 5, BAC decides to have question hour

Shillong, Oct 12: The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will commence its five-day autumn session from November 5, informed Assembly Commissioner & Secretary, Dr. Andrew Simons.

The calendar for the session was approved by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh earlier today.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, Leader of Opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma and UDP MLA from Shella Balajied Kupar Synrem.

The Speaker said that three days, November 5th, 10th, and 12th have been scheduled for government business, while November 9th and 11th has been allotted for private members business.

Responding to questions on whether there will be question hour, he said, “Question hour will be there, but I will regulate the timing.”

He added that COVID-19 protocols will be put in place to ensure the safety of all legislators, officers, and other attendees.
