Government Resolution for governor’s rule in GHADC approved

Shillong, Nov 5: Government Resolution for taking over Administration of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) by the Governor of Meghalaya has been approved on Thursday.

The Governor will assume the administration of the council for a period of six months, with effect from October 19, or till the constitution of the new council through election whichever is earlier.

Election to the council was postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

District Council Affairs Minister Lahkmen Rymbui laid the resolution on the first day of autumn session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
