Shillong, Aug 3: Meghalaya Government is looking to create a plasma bank to help treat patients suffering from COVID-19.
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, on Monday, stated that the health department consulted NEIGRIHMS and are examining preparing a plasma bank.
The government has also decided to impose Micro Containment Zones instead of containing the entire locality, so as to reduce the hardships faced by people.
Tynsong said that respective District Commissioners have been notified of the same.
Meanwhile Health Minister A L Hek informed that 28 positive COVID-19 cases were recorded on Monday, taking the total active cases to 633.
The total number of samples sent for testing is 38,596, of which 37,004 tested negative and the results of 690 samples are awaited.
He also informed that there have been 264 recoveries and 5 deaths.
