Govt not to take up case against SBI Manager

SHILLONG, July 2: The State government has said that it will not take up any case against the State Bank of India official branch manager of Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills.

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman Warr the decision was taken since there was a communication gap.

The Director of Health Service informed that the branch manager has join office at Khliehriat on June 15, but since he had earlier worked at Khanapara branch where a case was detected, the Assam authorities after doing contact tracing asked him to come for testing.

The person went to Assam on June 23 and had tested negative there, he returned back to Meghalaya on June 28.

When he reached Byrnihat entry point he showed the certificate given by Assam which stated that he was COVID-19 free.

“But when he reached Khliehriat the dorbar shnong there said that since he was out of town for sometime he had to be quarantined. When we tested him again he was positive,” Dr. Warr said.
