Shillong, Mar 5: The Meghalaya government has decided to rename two power projects in the state.
Informing this on Tuesday, state Power Minister, James K Sangma said that the 69 mw Umjaut Hydro Electric Power project and the 57 mw Umduna Hydro Electric Project has been renamed as Wah Umiam stage I and Wah Umiam stage II respectively.
“After detailed discussion and deliberations the cabinet has approved the allotment of both these projects to NEEPCO which is already implementing stage III wah Umiam power project,” Sangma told media persons.
Meanwhile, the Power Minister also informed that the state cabinet has also given its approval to the the draft guarantee deed.
According to Sangma , the draft guarantee deed is the issuance of government guarantee for availing sanction loan by the MePGCL for the 3×42 Myntdu-Leshka Hydro Electric Project which is required for the loan from the Rural Electrification Corporation Limited.
