Govt working on plans to reopen Ïewduh & Police Bazaar: Dy CM

Shillong, May 23: Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, on Saturday, informed that reopening ïewduh and police bazaar was discussed at a review meet held earlier today. 

He said that the details of the plan will be worked out by Monday and decisions will be taken accordingly. 

Tynsong also informed that out of 1403 returnees from Bengaluru, 532 have tested negative for COVID-19. The samples of 671 are being collected and another 300 samples have been sent for testing. 

He added that a special train carrying 231 returnees from Telangana will be reaching tonight and 139 persons from Haryana will be reaching on Sunday. 

Furthermore, stranded residents in Delhi have been requested to call 01123014341, 01123014451 or 9968262299. 

“State government is working tirelessly to brink back  students, people working in different parts of the country. I request all of you to be patient,” he said, adding that another train will depart from Jaipur on May 26. 

Meanwhile, the government has also decided to resume flight services from Umroii to Kolkata following the decision by central government to resume domestic flights. 

The Deputy CM also expressed his condolences to the family of Veteran Journalist and Editor of Kynjatshai Man Ka Sngi newspaper, Various Nongsiej who passed away on Friday.
