Shillong, Nov 10: Congress MLA from Mawsynram, HM Shangpliang on Tuesday urged the state government to release funds under Border Area Development Programme for the year 2020-21.
Shangpliang – during the question hour on the allotment of fund to Kalaichar and Dalu raised by Congress MLA Winnerson Sangma – asked the Minister-in-charge Border Areas Development Lahkmen Rymbui on whether funds for the year 2020-21 under BADP had been released, to which the latter replied no.
The Mawsynram MLA then stated that the funds had been released by the government of India and that it was stuck with the finance department.
Rymbui replied that the funds will be released by this week.
Meanwhile, the Border Areas Development Minister informed that under SCA (BADP) for BADO, Kalaichar, South West Garo Hills was allotted Rs 217.3 lakh in 2018-19 and 274.18 lakh in 2019-20.
He said that Dalu, West Garo Hills was allotted Rs 198.5 lakhs and Rs 228.45 lakhs for 2018-19 and 2019-2020 respectively, adding that an amount of Rs 190 lakhs under BADP additional fund 2018-19 was alloted under Dalu Border Block.
Rymbui stated that the allotment of fund under ISBADP for BADO Kalaichar is Rs 2.84 Lakh for the year 2018-19 and Nil for 2019-20, BADO Dalu was allotted Rs 9.84 lakh for 2018-19 and Nil in 2019-20.
“We have received the fund by the government and but we are processing for this financial year,” he said.
