Make Khasi/Garo compulsory till Class V: BJP State Pres

Shillong, Aug 6: BJP State President Ernest Mawrie, on Thursday, suggested that all schools in the state should make Khasi or Garo a compulsory subject till Class V.

He said that a meeting of the State Office Bearers of the party discussed the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020).

He informed that the State Office Bearers unanimously demanded that Khasi/Garo should be made as one compulsory subject for students for all students in all schools of the state.

The BJP State President said that he would also be writing to the Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, and the education minister, Lahkmen Rymbui, regarding this.
