MDA is answerable to the people and not to critics: Home Minister

Shillong, Oct 26: Meghalaya Home Minister, Lahkmen Rymbui on Sunday strongly responded to critics of the ruling MDA government stating that they are answerable to the people and not to those who quote ‘just like to criticize.’

The Home Minister stated that although some people say that the ruling government lacks direction he said that the government has both direction and mission to serve the people of the state.

He made the remark while attending the foundation laying ceremony of the new building of Capt Williamson A. Sangma Memorial College in Baghmara, South Garo Hills.

He said, “This Govt has done much more than any other Govt who had the privilege to serve the State for more than 6-7 years in the helms of affairs.”

Recalling his first visit to the district in 2018 after formation of the MDA government, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that roads in the district were not in a good condition, however, under the MDA government, he said that the roads in the district have improved and it will continue to improve.

He informed that in 2008, three Govt Colleges in the State were provincialized, however, no effort was made by the past Govt to ensure that infrastructure and other educational facilities and services were improved.

“MDA Govt under the leadership of Conrad K. Sangma has been working with a mission to ensure that we see a transformational change in the State,” Rymbui said.
