Wife accuses NPP of kidnapping husband – MDC

Tura, Jan 8: Wife of former CEM of GHADC, Boston Marak today alleged that a group of NPP MDCs had ‘kidnapped’ her husband.

Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will resume its session tomorrow incuding a no-confidence vote against the EC led by NPP.

It may be mentioned that the High Court had earlier directed the GHADC to restart the session.

Conforming about the incident, wife of Boston Marak said that two MDCs from NPP, MLA cum MDC, Benedict Marak and Sengnal Sangma, the Wagesik MDC, came to the house yesterday and took her husband from their house in Asibra in Tura, to an unknown location.

The wife of the MDC also filed an FIR into the incident at the Araimile Beathouse in Tura against the two representatives.

As per the FIR, the two leaders, along with a group of their supporters, came to house and forcefully took Boston. He has not been reachable ever since with the last call being made this morning, Jan 8.

“Till the filing of this FIR, I have not been able to contact my husband on his number since he was kidnapped. I last spoke to him at 12:40 pm this afternoon where he informed me that he was in Shillong. He called me from one number and though he was able to talk to me, he was not allowed to speak to him properly,” said Boston’s wife.

She added that in the case something happened to her husband, the two leaders, Sengnal and Benedict should be held responsible.

Confirming the receipt of the complaint, the superintendent of police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar said, “We are verifying whether the act is cognizable or not. We will act after verifying exactly what happened as the case is sensitive.”
