Tura, Feb 12: The GHADC MDC from Kharkutta, Smith Momin has written a complaint to the deputy commissioner of North Garo Hills over complaints made by the people of the constituency against the contractor of the incomplete PMGSY road between Majipara to Tebrongpara.
The road had been sanctioned in the year 2014 and was supposed to complete within 2 years. However due to the negligence of the department officials as well as the contractor, the road remains incomplete.
“Unfortunately the department concerned has turned a blind eye and as a result the project remains incomplete till today. It is a gross slackness by the PWD (R) department North Garo Hill and the contractor. The project is meant for the public not for the dissipation to vested interest people. The said contractor is violated the norms and is liable to have his licence cancelled,” said Smith in his complaint.
The MDC further sought a magisterial inquiry into the matter and for action against the contractor as well as department concerned so that the benefit of the road can be provided to the people.
“I appeal to your office to complete the inquiry within 2 weeks,” he added through a memorandum.
