Megh Govt declares three days mourning and holiday as a mark of respect to Dr. Donkupar Roy

SHILLONG, Jul 28: The Meghalaya Government has declared three days mourning and holiday in all State Government offices and educational institutions on 31st of July, as a mark of respect to Meghalaya Assembly speaker and former chief minister Dr. Donkupar Roy Dkhar.

An official order issued by the GAD, Government of Meghalaya said State mourning is being observed for three days from July 29 to 31.

The National and State flags will fly at half-mast during the State mourning on all buildings and places, where these are flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment during the period of mourning.

The statement also informed that the State funeral of Dr. Donkupar Roy shall be held at Sohra on July 31 and burial will be at Shella.
