Meghalaya cabinet reshuffle likely on Thursday

SHILLONG, Sep 30: A cabinet reshuffle of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government is likely going to take place on Thursday, sources close to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat said.

Sources informed that three time MLA and National People’s Party (NPP) legislator from Raliang constituency, Comingone Ymbon will be replaced by a novice Dasakhiat Lamare.

Lamare the son of former Umroi MLA Ngaitlang Dhar, represents Mawhati constituency.

Sources close to Ymbon said that Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma betrayed the latter, when initially it was agreed upon that there will be no reshuffle of Ministers at least from the NPP.

The other cabinet minister who is likely to be replaced is PHE Minister, Samlin Malgniang of the HSPDP. He will be replaced by his party colleague, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar MLA of Mawkyrwat constituency.
