Meghalaya Governor tests negative for COVID-19

SHILLONG, Sep 20: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik has once again tested negative for COVID-19 on Sunday. 

It may be mentioned that last week, staffs of the Raj Bhavan, has tested positive for the virus. 

According to Secretary to the Governor, Pravin Bakshi, Malik, got himself tested on Sunday and he was found to be negative. 

“On three earlier occasions also since his taking oath as Governor of Meghalaya he was tested as per Health protocols and was found negative,” Bakshi said. 

The Secretary to the Governor also informed that at the same time all 59 active cases of Raj Bhavan which comprises of officers, staff, attendants , drivers, security personnel are all fine and asymptomatic.  

“These are staff and personnel who were tested positive in three rounds of testing done in September 11, 13 and 17. They would also be re- tested accordingly per existing testing protocols of Health and Family Welfare Department,  Government of Meghalaya,” the Secretary to the Governor said.
