SHILLONG, May 4: The Meghalaya police on Friday has warned against a fake advertisement of posts in the department which is in circulation in social media and internet.
“The Central Recruitment Board of Police Department hereby clarifies that no advertisement has been issued by the Board,” H Nongpluh the Inspector General of Police, (TAP), Cum-Chairman (CRB) said in a statement.
Nongpluh also informed that an FIR has been filed by the Member Secretary, Central Recruitment Board for investigation and taking necessary action against the unknown persons who circulated the fake advertisement.
He also stated that all advertisements/ notices issued by the Central Recruitment Board will be available in the official website of Meghalaya Police.
Nongpluh said that the members of the public are requested not to respond to any such fake advertisements which are not available in the official website of Meghalaya Police (www.megpolice.gov.in).
The fake advertisement for posts in the Meghalaya police comes close on the heels of a fake results of interview purportedly conducted by Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) earlier this week.
The fake results for Junior Engineer Civil (Grade-1) in Veterinary Department, Water Resource Department and PWD (Roads & Buildings) went viral in WhatsApp.
The fake results contains the names of 87 candidates who passed the interview and listed “in order of merit”.
The signature of the chairman and secretary of MPSC was also forged.
Meanwhile, in this regard, the MPSC secretary WAM Booth filed an FIR with the police.
