Meghalaya power minister tests positive for Coronavirus

SHILLONG, Sep 12: Meghalaya power minister James Kongkal Sangma tested positive for Covid-19 in Imphal on Saturday.

Sangma who represents Dadenggre constituency, West Garo Hills, is the second legislator in the state to be infected with the virus.

According to reports, Sangma tested Covid-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test at Imphal International Airport.

Moreover, it was informed that the minister will be returning back by road to quarantine in Shillong.

The minister had gone to Imphal along with his brother and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and NPP National President to inaugurate the new party office of the state unit at Imphal today.
