Meghalaya records 164 new COVID-19 cases

SHILLONG, Oct 1: Meghalaya is again seeing a rise in COVID-19 positive cases with 164 cases detected on Thursday, even as 26 new recoveries were recorded. 

Of the new cases East Khasi Hills recorded 86 (armed and paramilitary forces four, others 82) one case from the district migrated to Assam, Ri-Bhoi 56, West Garo Hills 13, West Jaintia Hills four, East Jaintia three, South Garo Hills one and South West Khasi Hills one. 

With this the total number of active cases have climbed up to 1750.

Of the 26 new recoveries, East Khasi Hills had 17, Ri-Bhoi five (armed and paramilitary forces two, others three), West Garo Hills three and West Jaintia Hills one. With this the total number of recovered cases now stands at 4001 and the total deaths stands at 51.

The total number of persons tested till date are 153177, the number of samples tested negative are 147375 (those tested negative through CBNAAT, TRUENAAT, RAT are 81,643 and through RTCPR are 65,732).

The number of entrants from outside Meghalaya are 43110.
