Meghalaya records 58 new cases, total active cases now stands at 2047

SHILLONG, Sept 22: Meghalaya on Monday recorded another 58 COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 2047.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman Warr today informed that of the 58 active cases, the district wise break up of the cases are – East Khasi Hills -45, South West Garo Hills – 1, Ri-Bhoi – 5, East Jaintia Hills – 4, East Garo Hills – 2, South West Garo Hills – 1 and West Jaintia Hills – 1.

Of the 2047 active cases, the district wise break up of the cases are – East Khasi Hills -1471, West Garo Hills – 107, Ri-Bhoi – 136, West Khasi Hills –  13, North Garo Hills – 4, South Garo Hills – 6, East Jaintia Hills – 274, East Garo Hills – 6, South West Garo Hills – 15, West Jaintia Hills – 9 and South West Khasi – 6. 

Dr. Warr also informed that Meghalaya also recorded 179 new recoveries on Tuesday – East Khasi Hills – 141, Ri Bhoi – 8, West Garo hills – 22, South Garo hills – 2, West Khasi Hills – one, West Jaintia Hills – 2, East Jaintia Hills – 2 and East Garo Hills – 1. The total recoveries recorded so far are 2706.

The samples sent for testing so far are 1,35571 out of which 1,30096 samples tested negative and the report of 684 samples are awaited. 

The number of people who has entered Meghalaya till Tuesday afternoon are 39280.

The total death tally till today stands at 38 deaths.
