Shillong, May 3: Meghalaya recorded six more Covid-19 deaths on Monday taking the number of fatalities due to the virus to 185, and 246 fresh cases were detected, health authorities informed.
The six deaths recorded were of, Unity Lapasam (71) of Shangpung, West Jaintia Hills, Phool Kumari (65), of Lapalang, Shillong, Delbora Marbaniang (61), Lummawbah, Upper Shillong, Sanku Das (57), R. R. Colony, Shillong, Jolan Thapa (30) Barapathar and Ram Bahadur Biswa (56) of Upper Shillong.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that of the 246 new cases, East Khasi Hills 148 (Armed Force/Paramilitary Force –seven, others–141), Ri-Bhoi: 41 (Armed Force/Paramilitary Force –one, others–40), East Jaintia Hills 19, West Jaintia Hills 13, West KHasi Hills and South West Garo Hills ten each, South West Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills two each and North Garo Hills one.
The state on Monday also recorded 177 recoveries taking the total to 15606.
Of the 1884 active cases, East Khasi Hills the most affected district has 1205, Ri-Bhoi 194, West Garo Hills 122, West Jaintia Hills 101, East Jaintia Hills 97, West Khasi Hills 63, East Garo Hills 30, South West Khasi Hills 23, South West Garo Hills 18, South Garo Hills 16, North Garo Hills 15.
Dr. War informed that the total persons tested till date is 4,69,686 out of which 4,52,011 persons tested negative and 17675 are confirmed cases.
