Meghalaya records two more COVID-19 deaths

SHILLONG, Dec 3: Meghalaya on Thursday recorded two more COVID-19 deaths taking the number of fatalities to 116, health authorities informed.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War, informed that Mingran D Sangma of Salmanpara, South West Garo Hills district died in Tura Civil Hospital, while Belnarine Laloo of Jowai, West Jaiñtia Hills district died in Super Care Hospital.

Dr. War also informed that the state recorded 52 new cases taking the number of active cases to 648, while the number of recoveries has gone up to 11241 after 87 people recovered from the virus on Thursday.

Of the new cases, recorded on Thursday, 32, which includes 28 civilians and four – armed and paramilitary forces were recorded in East Khasi Hills district, 12 in West Garo Hills district, four in Ri-Bhoi district, three in West Jaintia Hills district and one in West Khasi Hills district.

Dr. War also informed that 51 persons recovered from the virus in East Khasi Hills district, 20 in South Garo Hills district, six in West Garo Hills district, four in South West Garo Hills district, three in West Jaintia Hills district, two in Ri-Bhoi district and one in East Garo Hills district.

Meanwhile, of the 2,47,928 persons tested for COVID-19 infection in the Meghalaya till date, 2,35,923 yielded negative results.

Dr. War also informed that till Thursday afternoon a total of 66, 753 persons have entered the State till date.
