Meghalaya reports 1 new COVID-19 case; tally rises to 47

Shillong, June 26: Meghalaya Health Minister A L Hek on Friday informed that the state recorded one more positive COVID-19 case from Ri Bhoi District, taking the total active cases to four.

Hek informed that the patient is a resident of Umden, Ri Bhoi district, but is working in Guwahati. He had returned to the state on June 24th after staying in Guwahati for two months.

In his brief he also informed that the total coronavirus cases in the state is now 47, of which 42 persons have recovered and 1 deceased.

He stated that the 18,037 samples have been sent for testing, and 17,741 have tested negative. The results of 250 samples are awaited.

Meanwhile, 18,358 persons have returned to the state, he said.
