Meghalaya to follow CBSE’s decision

Shillong, June 26: In view of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday decided not to conduct remaining examinations for Class X and Class XII that were scheduled to be held in July.

Speaking on the issue, Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui said that the CBSE and ICSE schools in Meghalaya will have to follow the decision by CBSE.

“Marking will be as per internal mark or other criteria which will be worked out by respective boards,” he stated.

However, he added that since the Meghalaya Board of Secondary Education (MBOSE) has already completed examinations for Class X and Class XII, there will be no problem.

“For our state we have no issue because we have completed, because MBOSE has completed Class 10 and 12 exam so we have no issue,” he said.

Meanwhile for higher education, the Education Minister said that they are awaiting instructions from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
