Shillong, May 11: The Ministry of Home Affairs, on Monday, issued Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for the transportation of stranded persons through railways.
The government informed that the movement of trains will be permitted by the Ministry of Railways (MoR), in a graded manner, and in consultation with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and MHA.
The Railway Ministry will publicize train schedule, booking, entry and movement of passengers and coach service specifications.
It was informed that only those passengers with confirmed e-tickets will be allowed to enter the station. Movement of vehicles to and fro the railway station, along with the driver and passenger (s) will also be based on the confirmed e-tickets.
All passengers will be screened and only asymptomatic persons will be allowed to board the train. Passengers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing.
All passengers will have to adhere to health protocols issued by the state or UT on their arrival at their destination.
