Shillong, Nov 24: The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) has intensified their campaign against the citizenship amendment bill (CAB) in the national capital and will having series of meetings with leaders of the different political parties.
On Saturday, led by its chairman Samuel B. Jyrwa, the NESO delegation met Janata Dal (United) leader K.C. Tyagi.
According to Khasi Students’ Union general secretary Donald V. Thabah, in the meeting with Tyagi, the organization leaders expressed their opposition to the proposed bill.
Thabah also informed that Tyagi reiterated the party’s stand against the bill and pledged support to the anti CAB movement.
The KSU leader also said that the NESO leaders will also meet leaders from various national and regional parties, including the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamul Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, Shiv Sena, Biju Janata Dal, BSP, DMK and others, to seek support for “permanent” withdrawal of the bill.
